Bella Hadid Subtly Supports Ex-Boyfriend The Weeknd After Grammy's Snub

From ELLE

Bella Hadid has shown support for her former boyfriend, The Weeknd, following his controversial exclusion from the 2021 Grammy award nominations.

On November 24, the nominations for the January ceremony - largely regarded as the biggest night in music - were announced.

One of the biggest shocks following the nominations announcement was thatThe Weeknd was snubbed from all categories despite having one of the bestselling albums and singles of the past year.

Among the many fans of The Weeknd (whose real name is Abel Tesfaye) to be outraged was Sir Elton John who voiced his shock on Instagram saying that in his 'humble opinion' the Canadian singer's hit song 'Blinding Lights' is deservedly both the Record and Song of the year (two major Grammy's categories).

Among the 200,000 people who agreed with Sir Elton by 'liking' the post was Hadid - who famously dated The Weeknd on and off for four years before calling their relationship off for good in August 2019.

The 24-year-old model and singer were first linked in 2015, they then split up in 2016 - during which time The Weeknd moved on with Selena Gomez following her recent separation from Justin Bieber.

Hadid and The Weeknd then reunited in 2018 (meanwhile Gomez got back together, briefly, with Bieber) but broke up 16 months later.

Nevertheless, Hadid evidently continue to supports her ex.

Over the past few days, The Weeknd has made his feelings on the Grammy's snub abundantly clear, accusing the awards show of 'remaining corrupt', telling them in tweets and Instagram posts: 'You owe me, my fans, the industry transparency.'

The president of the Grammy's responded to The Weeknd's public claim, saying: 'We understand that The Weeknd is disappointed at not being nominated. I was surprised and can empathise with what he's feeling.'
