Benjamin Keough, the son of Lisa Marie Presley and grandson of Elvis Presley, has died at the age of 27.

Keough died in Calabasas, California, on Sunday (12 July), with local news reporting the death as an apparent suicide.

The news of Keough’s death was confirmed by Lisa Marie Presley’s manager Roger Widynowski on Sunday night, who told the Associated Press that the singer was “heartbroken”.

“She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley,” Widynowski said.

“She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.”

Born in 1992 to musicians Presley and Danny Keough, Benjamin Keough was the only grandson of late singer Elvis Presley.

Nancy Sinatra tweeted her condolences after the news emerged, writing, “I have known you since before your mama gave birth to you, never dreaming you would have pain like this in your life. I’m so very sorry.”
