Come rain or shine, we love a BBQ (which is good, because we usually have to contend with both). And with summer on its way, it’s time to dust off the grill and get planning your next big cookout.
And the Good Housekeeping Institute is here to lend a hand with our big BBQ Taste Test. Our panel of experts have tasted over 235 products from supermarkets and independent retailers to bring you only the very best for your grill, so you can spend less time shopping and more time chilling in the sunshine – with a Taste Approved ice cream of course.
Burgers, sausages, ribs and kebabs – you name it, we’ve tried it. We’ve also put together our pick of the best plant-based burgers and sausages, so no-one misses out, as well as expert-approved hot sauces, mayo, dips and crisps.
But who came out on top? Well, it was a good year for Aldi, which is the place to go for those all-important extras, winning best cheese slices and best burger buns, and finishing in the top five across 12 categories in total.
Premium supermarket Waitrose was another standout performer, finishing in the top five across 11 categories and taking home four wins for best BBQ chicken, ice cream, hot dog buns and gluten-free burger buns.
