Best UK jobs and locations for workers with least experience
The leisure and tourism industries are set to be the sectors hiring most inexperienced job seekers, as the UK looks to opening up its economy this summer, according to a study.
While this might seem counterintuitive, with those sectors being disproportionately affected by COVID-19 lockdowns, researchers at theKnowledgeAcademy.com found that jobs in the sector account for 88.2% of current job roles suitable for those with less experience.
Following a 50% bump in Google searches for jobs in the UK that don't require any previous experience, researchers searched Reed.co.uk for jobs across the UK and used the specialism filter to find the number of no experience roles in each sector.
Graduate training and internships came a not-so-close second place with a 35.4% share of jobs offered needing less experience. This was followed by sales (20.6%) and legal (20.3%).
Of all 33 sectors analysed, customer service (4%) is the least likely to hire inexperienced job seekers. This is followed by general insurance (4.3%) in 33rd and Purchasing (4.9%) in 32nd place.

Belfast topped the list of UK cities that are hot for inexperienced job seekers, followed by Aberdeen and Dundee.
The UK's capital did not rank well for this measure, with London notching the fewest opportunities for people with no previous experience (10.9%). Other big cities such as Birmingham (11.9%) and Manchester (12.1%) were also down the bottom of the rankings, while Swansea and Southend-on-Sea were hiring hotspots for those with less experience.
