Carving a pumpkin takes time, patience and a little craft. However, if you don’t want to spend tons of time carving, but want it to look like you did, here’s a hack. The best way to carve a pumpkin is with Amazon’s best-selling Pumpkin Punchers — and luckily, they’re on sale, just in time for Halloween.
Pumpkin Punchers are essentially cookie cutters. This set includes 24 stainless steel shapes — eyes, noses, mouths, eyebrows and more — for creating your best jack-o-lantern.

To start, cut open your pumpkin and remove the “guts” and seeds. Once it’s hollowed out, gently press in the Pumpkin Puncher shapes where you want them on the outside of your pumpkin. Then, use a rubber mallet to punch them completely through. (The last part has to be the most fun part, right?)
The Pumpkin Punchers are so much easier to use than a knife for making scary or silly designs, especially for kids. You can use the shapes to make dozens of unique designs, too. Truly, this has to be the best way to carve a pumpkin.
When you’re done carving, cleanup is a breeze. You can toss the Pumpkin Punchers right in the dishwasher.
The only downside is that this set doesn’t come with a rubber mallet, which reviewers say works best. Although, you can get one on Amazon for about $10. Otherwise, if you use a regular hammer, you may bend the shapes out of whack.
“Absolutely worth it!” wrote one Amazon reviewer. “Made carving pumpkins with five cousins so much easier! (Ranging from 2 years old to 12 years old). No sawing forever with knives. Even the 2-year-old could hammer it in! A few pieces bent from overzealous kids but it was easy to fix with a pair of pliers. The kids loved making different designs!”
Get a set of the Pumpkin Punchers before Halloween rolls around and you’ll be golden. No one in the neighborhood will have anything on your creatively carved pumpkins!
