It's not just the titular genius's brain that has been getting bigger as The Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon continues into its fourth season. Oh no, its cast list has been doing some growing of its own as of late, too.

According to TV Line, Two and a Half Men's Melanie Lynskey is set to be introduced as Sheldon's philosophy teacher Professor Ericson, in an episode that is scheduled to air on Thursday, February 11.

Created by Big Bang Theory bosses Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro, Young Sheldon acts as a prequel to the long-running original series. It centres on a younger version of Jim Parsons' pedantic scientist, who is fast-tracked through school after proving his hyper-intelligence.
