Billington Holdings wins contract to build Next's warehouse

LONDON (ShareCast) - Steel and construction safety group Billington Holdings (LSE: BILN.L - news) has won a contract to build a distribution warehouse in Doncaster for fashion retailer Next (Other OTC: NXGPF - news) . The warehouse will cover one million square feet and will include a four-storey office structure and link bridge, the AIM-listed company said.

The contract was signed with the contractor Bowmer & Kirkland group and is expected to be completed in August.

Chief executive Mark Smith said: "The construction of a distribution warehouse on such a large scale involves a great deal of complex planning.

"The fact that Bowmer & Kirkland has once again chosen Billington Structures to provide the structural steelwork for one of their most significant and prestigious projects, and indeed clients in Next, is testament to Billington's quality, reliability and performance."
