Yahoo Finance Bills can host 6,700 fans at first-round playoff game after having zero fans in regular season
Hide your favorite plastic or wooden table, New Yorkers, because Buffalo Bills fans have a reason to celebrate. The Bills were cleared to host 6,700 fans at the team’s first-round playoff game.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo made that announcement Wednesday, though it came with some stipulations.

The stadium is outdoors. Every fan must test negative before game, wear a mask & social distance.
There will be post-game contact tracing.

Every fan at the game must test negative before attending the game, and will be required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines in the stadium. On top of that, Cuomo said there will be postgame contact tracing to make sure fans don’t spread COVID-19 in the weeks following the event.
Cuomo urged those attending the game to “be smart,” which — for Bills fans — roughly translates to: “You can still jump through tables, but don’t light them on fire first.”
Bills can host fans for first time this season
The news represents a huge first in New York. Throughout the 2020 NFL season, fans have not been allowed to attend Bills games under Cuomo’s COVID-19 protocols. It appears Cuomo is willing to make an exception now that the Bills have clinched the AFC East.
Cuomo’s exception does not apply to the team’s Week 17 game against the Miami Dolphins. Though that game will be played at home, the Bills will not be allowed to host fans in Week 17.
It’s unclear whether Cuomo will allow Bills fans to continue attending games if the team advances past the first round.
