Israel Adesanya will look to win a second world title at UFC 259 in Las Vegas

(Zuffa LLC)

Israel Adesanya, Amanda Nunes and Petr Yan all face huge title fights on a bumper UFC 259 card in Las Vegas, USA, tonight.

The much-anticipated event is headlined by undefeated middleweight king Adesanya’s attempts to become a two-division world champion as he moves up to take on Polish light-heavyweight title-holder Jan Blachowicz.

‘Stylebender’ would follow in the footsteps of the dominant Nunes - as well as the likes of Conor McGregor - if he was able to hold two UFC world titles simultaneously, though has been warned that he faces potentially his toughest test in mixed martial arts to date on Saturday.

As for Nunes, the reigning women’s bantamweight and featherweight champion - and greatest female fighter ever to grace the octagon - puts the latter belt on the line against former Invicta FC champion Megan Anderson.

If that wasn’t quite enough, Russia’s Yan also defends his men’s bantamweight crown for the very first time in an evenly-matched battle against top contender Aljamain Sterling.

UFC 259 predictions

Adesanya to win via unanimous decision

Nunes to win via KO/TKO

Sterling to win via submission

We’re backing the dominant Adesanya to become only the fifth UFC fighter ever to hold two world title belts concurrently, while another stoppage for Nunes seems the safe bet and Sterling is well capable of dethroning Yan with his superior ground game.
