Blogger Michael Sy Lim will fight Liz Uy

12 Nov - "Writers should not cower from this suppression of freedom to express and the freedom of press," said Michael Sy Lim, the writer for entertainment blog Fashion Pulis, recently, following reports of a libel suit filed by celebrity stylist Liz Uy against him.

According to Inquirer, the showbiz blogger recently responded to Uy's previous announcement with his own statement on social media accounts, saying, "It is sad that a public figure such as Liz Uy decides to file a case against me."

Lim stressed that what he wrote in his posts previously can be pointed out by many others, since it was a truthful observation about Uy's work in relation to Maine Mendoza.

Uy previously announced that she is suing Lim for several counts of libel for his blog posts that accused her of giving "Eat Bulaga!" star Maine Mendoza recycled clothes for her public appearance and photo shoot, including a Francis Liberan gown previously worn by actress Kim Chiu and a jacket that Uy herself has worn before.

"I will fight this case with bravery," said Lim. "I have no malicious intent."

The blogger added that he is also filing counter charges against Uy for suppressing the freedom of the press.

This isn't the first time the Fashion Pulis writer was sued. According to Random Republika, earlier in August, model Deniece Cornejo filed a libel suit against him for publishing a medical report that supposedly proved that she has a sexually transmitted disease.
