David Bolton has been elected by the Energen Corporation (EGN) Board of Directors as Vice President – Land for the company’s oil and gas exploration and production unit, Energen Resources Corporation. The company is focused on the exploration and development of its oil and natural gas liquids assets in the Permian Basin.

Bolton comes to Energen Resources from Chesapeake Energy Corporation which he served as Southern Division Land Director. “Dave’s knowledge of and experience in the Permian Basin make him an excellent choice to head up our Land department,” said James McManus, Energen’s chairman and chief executive officer. “As we position ourselves to capitalize on significant growth opportunities in the Permian Basin, Dave complements an excellent senior management team that includes John Richardson, president and chief operating officer; David Godsey, senior vice president of exploration and geology; David Minor, senior vice president of operations; Paul Sparks, senior vice president of resource development and technology; Davis Richards, vice president of drilling and completions; and Gene Cash, vice president of acquisitions and reservoir engineering.”
