Orlando Bloom commissioned Borat to record a video message for his fiancée, the singer Katy Perry, on her 36th birthday.

In the video, which Bloom posted on his Instagram, Sacha Baron Cohen can be seen in character as the hapless Kazakh journalist, saying: “Jak sie masz [How are you], Katy Pepsi.”

Referencing the picture of Bloom naked on a paddle board that went viral in 2016, Borat continues: “I was planning on going sailing in Florida and so I make internet searching of Orlando water sports. But instead, Mr Google sent me a photograph of your husband with his crumb out.

“He have a very good one. It must be nice to see Orlando bloom. You will have a very nice birthday. A lot of cream on your cake. Why not?”

Borat 2 was released on Amazon Prime on 23 October.

In a four-star review for The Independent, Clarisse Loughrey described the new film as “a jaw-dropping exposé of America in the here and now” with “a pay-off that’s worth a lifetime of being subjected to the words ‘very nice!’”
