A 13-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a man was shot dead in London.

Shakur Hassan, 23, was killed in Austin Road in Hayes last autumn, while a burnt-out car believed to have been related was found a few miles away.

The boy has been charged with murder and perverting the cause of justice, Scotland Yard said.

He is due to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday along with Guled Hassan, 21, of Southall, who is also charged with murder.

Jamie Ayres, 46, from Northolt, and a 16-year-old boy are set to appear at the Old Bailey later this week charged with murder.

Police were called to reports of a shooting in Austin Road shortly before 10pm on 13 October last year, and found Hassan with gunshot injuries.

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service also attended, but despite their efforts, Hassan was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Detective Inspector Katherine Goodwin, who is leading the investigation, said at the time: “Firstly my thoughts are with Shakur’s family and friends.

"I want to reassure them and the wider community that my team and I are working hard to piece together the circumstances that led to this tragic outcome.”
