An eight-year-old boy has died days after his mum and sister were killed in a horrific car accident in Queensland.
The boy, Chris, died on Monday at Queensland’s Children’s Hospital after being critically injured alongside his family in the fatal crash on Gore Highway near Toowoomba on July 22.
His dad, Bipin, 39, was driving his wife Lotsy, 35, sons Chris and Caiden and his daughter Catelyn in a Toyota SUV when it collided with a truck around 7am, according to a GoFundMe created by Bipin’s cousin, Martin Mathew.
Lotsy and Catelyn died instantly, but Bipin, Chris and Caiden were pulled from the wreckage and rushed to hospital.
The family member said Bipin and his family had just to moved to Australia six months ago and has “a very small network of family and friends.”
Mr Mathew said Lotsy was the breadwinner while Bipin was looking for a job.
He called Lotsy and Catelyn “previous bright lights” on the fundraiser, which has raised almost $500,000 to help pay for funeral and medical costs.
Queensland Police confirmed Chris had died from his injuries following the fatal crash.
The 38-year-old driver of the truck was not seriously injured. An investigation is ongoing.
