BP Whiting refinery overhaul continues -sources

HOUSTON, Oct (Shenzhen: 000069.SZ - news) 4 (Reuters) - BP Plc is continuing an overhaul of the large crude unit and large gasoline unit at the company's 413,500 barrel per day (bpd) Whiting, Indiana refinery, sources familiar with plant operations said on Tuesday.

A BP spokesman declined to discuss the status of individual units at the refinery.

The 240,000 bpd Pipestill 12 crude distillation unit and the 110,000 bpd Fluidic Catalytic Cracking Unit 500 were shut on Sept. 20. The FCCU is scheduled to be shut until the end of October but the work on Pipestill 12 is scheduled finish well before the end of the month.

BP also plans to shut the 90,000 bpd Pipestill 11C CDU after completing the work on Pipestill 12.

Other ancillary units will also be shut for work during the overhaul.

The refinery's smallest crude unit, the 75,000 bpd Pipestill 11A, and the 60,000 bpd FCCU 600 are scheduled to remain in production while work is being done.
