BP Whiting refinery restarting alkylation unit -sources
HOUSTON, Aug 4 (Reuters) - BP Plc was restarting the 30,000 barrel per day (bpd) alkylation unit at the company's 413,500 bpd Whiting, Indiana, refinery on Tuesday afternoon, said sources familiar with operations at the plant.
The alkylation unit, which converts refining byproducts into octane-boosting gasoline components, was knocked out of production on Tuesday due to a malfunction. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by James Dalgleish)
