Bradley Walsh is about to become a grandad because his daughter has announced she is pregnant.

The Doctor Who star’s daughter Hayley shared her happy news on Instagram with a photo of a sign saying “On Maternity Leave” next to a pair of baby booties.

According to The Mirror, she added: “However being pregnant during this lockdown has been a little tricky at times.”

Hayley, who lives in Hertfordshire, works as a reflexologist and is Walsh’s eldest child from a relationship before his marriage to wife Donna Derby.

Walsh is also dad to Barney, Hayley’s younger half-brother, who he stars alongside in the travel series Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad.

The programme sees the pair take on risky and adventurous challenges in the places they visit, with the Chase host having broken three bones in his spine while riding a bull during one escapade.

Walsh is about to play the head of a fictional family, too – he has recently been cast as Pop Larkin in a new adaptation of The Darling Buds Of May.

The previous TV adaptation of the much-loved book starred David Jason as Pop Larkin and launched Catherine Zeta-Jones’ career. The new ITV series has been rebranded as The Larkins.

Walsh also recently left his role on Doctor Who, with Time Lord actor Jodie Whittaker admitting she had broken down in tears on their last day of filming together, which also saw the exit of their co-star Tosin Cole.
