Yahoo Finance Brendan Rodgers would be ‘insane’ to choose Tottenham or Arsenal over Leicester, says Joe Cole
Brendan Rodgers would be “insane” to take the Tottenham job, according to Joe Cole.
The Leicester manager has been linked with the Spurs role following the sacking of Jose Mourinho, but insists he is happy at the King Power as he aims to win his first trophy with the Foxes in Saturday’s FA Cup Final.
Rodgers has previously been linked with Arsenal, but Cole has warned him against either of the north London clubs.
“He would be insane to consider Spurs or Arsenal ahead of Leicester,” said the Chelsea legend. “Spurs and Arsenal are a mess at the moment.”
Former Leicester striker Emile Heskey says Rodgers’ commitment to the club is evidence of their growing power in the game.
“I think that’s a testament to him and a testament to the owners and the King Power,” he said. “Because if you feel that you’ve got everything you need to succeed there, why would you go anywhere else?
“We’ve got the new training ground that’s second to none, he’s been given the money that he needs, given young players he needs and he’s been given the freedom to express himself the way he wants to.
“He’s getting the best out of these players so it is a testament to everyone and himself saying, ‘Why do I need to leave when I can really achieve everything here?’”
