LONDON (Reuters) - Britain launched a new government bond maturing in January 2039 on Tuesday, after investors bought debt with a face value of 7 billion pounds ($9.69 billion), the United Kingdom Debt Management Office said.

The new 1.125% 2039 gilt was priced to offer a yield of 1.0858%, 8.5 basis points more than the 4.75% 2038 gilt which acted as a benchmark in the syndication.
