Britain's Buzzard oilfield shut down again on Wednesday - traders

(Adds context)

LONDON, Sept 10 (Reuters) - Britain's North Sea Buzzard oilfield was shut down again on Wednesday, trade sources said, following outages on Sunday evening and Monday night.

Buzzard is the single biggest contributor to the Forties crude stream, which helps to underpin the price of dated Brent. It normally pumps at about 200,000 barrels-per-day (bpd), but has struggled to return from seasonal maintenance.

On Tuesday, Buzzard's operator Nexen (KSE: 005720.KS - news) said that the field was beginning to ramp up again following its Monday shutdown.

By Wednesday morning production had reached about 100,000 bpd, according to traders, but the progress proved short-lived.

Buzzard's problems could trigger more delays to September loadings, with six Forties cargoes already pushed off their original loading dates. In addition, one cargo has been dropped from September's programme.
