Britain's Buzzard oilfield suffers fresh outage over weekend-trade

LONDON, Sept 29 (Reuters) - Britain's North Sea Buzzard oilfield suffered a fresh outage over the weekend a trade source said on Monday, as it continued to struggle to return from seasonal maintenance.

The field went down on Friday afternoon or evening, the source said, with very little crude produced on Saturday. "It's nearly back to full rates now," he added.

Buzzard is the single biggest contributor to the Forties crude stream, which helps to underpin the price of dated Brent. It normally pumps at about 200,000 barrels-per-day (bpd), but has had a stop-start return from August maintenance with repeated shutdowns.

A spokeswoman for Buzzard's operator Nexen (KSE: 005720.KS - news) was not immediately available for comment. (Reporting by Claire Milhench, editing by Louise Heavens)
