Browns draft David Njoku with the 29th pick

In a last minute surprise, the Browns traded with the Packers to move up to the 29th spot in the 2017 NFL draft. With it, they selected tight end David Njoku out of the University of Miami.

Njoku stands at 6’4’’ and sports a 37.5 inch vertical, which makes him a huge asset to the Browns passing attack, no matter who is throwing the football to him. He’s known to be a strong blocker and have excellent cutting ability when running routes, so he should be able to immediately contribute to the running and passing attack.

Drops were known to be a problem for Njoku in college, but his raw potential more than makes up for it. Njoku has the potential to make a day one impact for the Browns.

In his two years at Miami, he caught 64 passes for 1060 yards, averaging 16.6 yards per reception. On top of those numbers, he also complied nine touchdowns. He’s a big red zone threat and his size gives him the ability to make some big plays.
