Yahoo Finance TikTok star Bryce Hall addresses backlash after fan claims he 'quit his job' over Sway House contest: 'Constant slander'
TikToker royalty Bryce Hall recently addressed a competition winner who made videos criticizing him and the rest of the Sway House and claimed that he was ignored after winning the chance to fly out to Los Angeles and meet them.
In October, Hall announced that if his fans could get his business podcast, Capital University, to the number one spot on Apple Podcasts he would fly someone out to Los Angeles to hang out with him and the Sway Boys. All participants had to do was show themselves subscribing and rating the podcast online.
One participant, Gunnar Morgan, went the extra mile and made flyers about the event and recorded a TikTok of himself handing them out to people to subscribe to and rate the podcast.

“I spent a lot of effort and money to do this,” Morgan said in the caption.
The effort was recognized by Hall who duetted the TikTok to announce that Morgan would get to be flown out to Los Angeles. The video has since been deleted off of TikTok, but Morgan’s reaction to the duet is still up on his profile.
“Thank you for noticing the hard work and dedication I put into this,” Morgan wrote in response to Hall’s duet. “Can’t wait bro!”
Leading up to the competition, Morgan had posted a bunch of TikToks tagging all of the Sway House members and advocating for himself to join the group.
Two months after the announcement was made, Morgan uploaded a TikTok where he claimed that the Sway House team ignored him after he won the contest. The video has since been deleted but was uploaded to an Instagram drama page called TikTokRoom.
“What the f*** is wrong with these influencers saying that they’re gonna fly their fans out and not f****** doing it,” Morgan says in the clip. “I ended up quitting my job because they weren’t going to let me off to go to LA. And then Bryce left me on read. His assistant left me on read.”
The debacle blew up after being shared to the Instagram account, which is where Hall addressed the issues in a comment.
Blake Gray, another member of Sway House, also commented saying, “fool was DMing my family members regarding Bryce flying him out…”
Morgan replied to Hall’s comment saying, “say that instead of leaving my confused asf.”
Influencer competitions seem to regularly ignite some sort of backlash, especially if the influencer isn’t very explicit in the terms and conditions of the contest. In September, influencer Molly-Mae Hague was under fire after being accused by her followers of “fixing” her $10,000 giveaway.
