At the Layer123 SDN & OpenFlow World Congress, BTI will showcase the Virtual Network Edge solution -- in Booth #14 -- by demonstrating a Proof-of-Concept with Active Broadband Networks' Virtual Broadband Network Gateway (vBNG). The companies will feature the hosting of Active Broadband Networks' Software-Defined Virtual Network Gateway (SDN-vNG) software on the BTI 7800 Series Applications Blade to aggregate broadband access traffic at the network edge. Additionally, the demonstration will show the Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) capabilities integrated in the BTI 7800 Series platform, being controlled and managed from an OpenDaylight SDN controller.
BTI also recently announced that at the Layer123 SDN & OpenFlow World Congress, the company will be demonstrating a Proof-of-Concept as part of the SDN Showcase in the Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks (CENGN) Booth, #83, located in the Travetin Foyer. Specifically, BTI will be highlighting bandwidth-on-demand for multi-site, multi-domain, data center capacity management using SDN. Also at the event, on Thursday, October 15 at 2:45 p.m. CEST, BTI's Director of Product Architecture Peter Landon will present the session, "Bringing the Data Center into the Central Office."
The demand by both businesses and consumers for high-bandwidth access, rapid service turn-up, on-demand connectivity and nonstop performance is being fueled by applications including video on-demand, Internet TV, mobility, cloud services and the emerging Internet of Things.
