Candles usually have a floral, fruity, clean or musky smell — but not exactly Budweiser’s. Yes, the beer giant now has a candle. But rather than smelling like a can of beer, it evokes the scent of a backyard barbecue where you’d usually enjoy a cold one.
Homesick x Budweiser Backyard BBQ Candle, $34
For its first home scent, Budweiser teamed up with Homesick, the candle brand that specializes in scents that represent states, cities, countries and even memories. When you burn a homesick candle, you’ll immediately remember home (or a time when you felt at home).
The Backyard BBQ candle will take you back to the days when you grilled out with friends and shared ice cold beers. But if you’re expecting it to smell like a hot dog, you’ll be happily disappointed. It’s more of a musky scent with notes of allspice, barley, lemonade, barbecue smoke, vanilla, amber and clove. It’s pretty much summer in a candle.
Backyard BBQ is 13.75 ounces, and its burn time is between 60 to 80 hours, so you can let this baby burn for a while. Another plus: Homesick candles have a natural soy wax blend that’s non-toxic. There are also no plastics, parabens, synthetic dyes or phthalates in them.
