Yahoo Finance Burberry is championing young voices for International Women's Day
Burberry is celebrating International Women’s Day by championing the voices of young women and supporting charities that drive change.
The fashion label has made a donation to The Prince’s Trust's Women Supporting Women initiative, which will help hundreds of women access virtual speed interviews with employers, online courses and education support through the Change a Girl’s Life campaign.
The fashion house is also continuing its support of London Youth with a donation that will help to fund programmes for young women and girls across the charity’s 600 community youth organisations. London Youth works to provide all young Londoners with the skills, confidence and opportunities to succeed and overcome the structural barriers faced by many people today.
Burberry has also teamed up with London Youth on a special film that discusses modern womanhood and ambitions for the future. It features members of the Burberry family, including Irina Shayk and Jourdan Dunn.
"Charities such as London Youth and The Prince’s Trust play a pivotal role in improving the lives of young women and we are proud to support their work on International Women’s Day," Erica Bourne, chief people officer at Burberry, said. "Driving gender equality across our business and communities is critical to creating a truly inclusive future, and we were inspired by the powerful reflections and stories of the women in our celebratory film."
