BUZZ-Aixtron and Ashmore: busy morning for short sellers

** Two of the most-shorted companies in Europe see very different price action after reporting better than expected results on Tuesday

** Semiconductor manufacturer Aixtron squeezes higher, up 8.4 pct on an improving order book

** Asset manager Ashmore also reports improving conditions, but fails to hold early gains

** Opened up 4 pct but renewed pressure sees stock broadly flat by the session mid-point

** Two cos both have short base percentages in double digits, but Ashmore's much more concentrated

** Ashmore only has two meaningful short sellers (> 0.5 pct): Odey Asset Management with a 6.3 pct position and Discovery capital at 1.7 pct

** More short interest in Aixtron (14.7 pct in positions greater than 0.5 pct) but base much more diversified with eleven sellers disclosed to regulator

** Well-shorted companies reporting this week: Yoox , Petrofac (Weds), Tag Immo, CGG (LSE: 0O2V.L - news) , Ladbrokes (Thurs), Golden Ocean (Fri)
