BUZZ-BP grows more optimistic on global oil demand growth

* BP is growing more optimistic that the oil market may have turned a corner, as it upgraded its estimate for global demand growth, thanks to the lower crude prices that have boosted fuel consumption around the world. * Chief Financial Officer Brian Gilvary says global oil demand growth will slow to around 1.4 million bpd from last year's 1.8 million bpd. But this marks an improvement on the company's forecasts at the end of last year for demand growth of just 1-1.1 million bpd this year. * Gilvary was speaking at an analysts call following BP's first quarter results which saw profits drop by 80 percent from a year earlier.
