BUZZ-Bwin.Party: deal hopes re-emerge

** Online gambling co Bwin.Party claws back some of its recent hefty falls, with traders citing reignited hopes for a deal to buy the co as M&A activity in the sector hots up

** Bwin shares up 4.6 pct, in relatively robust volume at around 2/3 of the 90-day daily avg

** In November, Bwin said it was considering a range of proposals from interested parties

** Late last wk, shares in co fell sharply, with various press reports suggesting deal hopes had been quashed

** But, according to a Wall Street Journal article citing people familiar with the matter, Canada's Amaya Gaming is still in talks regarding the acquisition of co or parts of it

** Amaya (Other OTC: AMYGF - news) last yr bought the outfit behind online gambling sites PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker

** Increasing tax & regulation across the gambling sector's biggest markets has meant cos have begun to seek faster growth & more customers through online operations
