BUZZ-Carillion: shares hit record low on fear of administration

(Updates shares after morning slump, Sky (Frankfurt: 893517 - news) report)

** Shares (Berlin: DI6.BE - news) in Carillion (Frankfurt: 924047 - news) sink 37.5 pct to a record low after Sky News reports the troubled building and services co has put administrators on standby in case rescue talks fail.

** Co is asking creditors to consider a debt extension or roll-over in financing talks.

** Senior British ministers have also held crisis talks this week to discuss the fate of its key infrastructure partner, as fears grow at the highest levels of government that the debt-laden group could collapse.

** Shares, down 90 pct since co's first profit warning in July, fall as low as 12.5 pence around noon in London. At its peak, stock was valued at 456.5 pence in Oct (Shenzhen: 000069.SZ - news) , 2007

** Peel Hunt analyst Andrew Nussey predicts accelerated financial restructuring and sets 1p price target.
