** British packaging co DS Smith (Other OTC: DITHF - news) top FTSE 250 riser & up at near-yr highs as agrees to buy Vienna-based peer Duropack for about 300 mln euros

** Acquisition - subject to competition clearance & to be completed in Q2 - to immediately enhance EPS; DS Smith expect 12 mln euros synergies within 3 yrs; including synergies, DS Smith paying 5.7 times EBITDA

** Analysts at Jefferies expect mid-single digit consensus FY16 EPS upgrades

** Shares (Frankfurt: DI6.F - news) up 3 pct, taking its advance this yr to about 8 pct
