BUZZ-European airlines: Plummet on U.S. curbs on travel from Europe
(Updates with share price moves, adds airport operators)
** Airline shares slump after the United States imposes a clampdown on European travel to the country
** Lufthansa down 10.8%, Norwegian down 18%, ICAG down 7.7%, Air France down 17% and SAS down 9.9% in early trade
** U.S. President Donald Trump has said the ban was needed because the country was entering a "critical time" in the fight against the virus
** The 30-day ban excludes Britain, Ireland and other countries outside the European Schengen passport-free travel area
** "Given the spread of the virus and the subsequent reaction of the United States it cannot be excluded that the UK may also be subject to a travel ban at a later date," Bernstein says
** Airport operators also slid, with Fraport down 9.6%, Paris airport operator ADP down 12.1% and Flughafen Zuerich down 12.5%
