** Kazakhstan miner +2.9 pct

** Kaz says after planned expansion, capacity will double at Aktogay mine to 50 mln tonnes from 25 mln tonnes per annum, with first ore from the mine expected in H2 2021

** Kaz says will start spending on the $1.2 bln expansion project in 2018, project to complete in 2020, and be in full production by 2022

** Kaz says copper production at Aktogay will increase by 80 kilo tonnes to avg of about 170 kt per annum from 2022 to 2027

** Canaccord Genuity (Frankfurt: A0B6V4 - news) says that even with the cash spend on the expansion, Kaz will still be able to afford a dividend in 2018

** Macquarie: "As Bozshakol and Aktogay have ramped up, reaching near full capacity, the market had started to question whether Kaz Minerals (LSE: KAZ.L - news) was still a growth stock. In our view, today's announcement answers the sceptics" (RM (LSE: RM.L - news) : justin.varghese.thomsonreuters.com@reuters.net)
