BUZZ-Nanoco Group rallies on report of Samsung new TV prototype

** British nanotechnology company Nanoco Group (Other OTC: NNOCF - news) shares up as much as 13.4 pct at 108.74 pence

** Korea Times says, citing sources, that Samsung Electronics is mulling the release of a prototype of quantum dots TV set at the IFA technology fair in Berlin (http://bit.ly/1vU89Ve)

** Nanoco said in March it has signed up for the third phase of a joint development programme with a major South Korean electronics company, focusing on the commercialisation of optimised Nanoco quantum dots in the company's displays.

** South Korean companies such as Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics Inc (KSE: 066570.KS - news) dominate the flat panel TV market.

** Cadmium-free quantum dots are semiconductor nanocrystals which can be used in display screens such as LED TVs, solar cells and biological imaging.
