BUZZ-Nigeria's case vs Shell unit over crude exports pushed to December

LAGOS/LONDON, Oct (Shenzhen: 000069.SZ - news) 20 (Reuters) - Nigerian courts have adjourned until December 8 a suit against Shell (LSE: RDSB.L - news) 's Nigerian subsidiary SPDC over claims that the company owes money for allegedly not declaring exports of crude oil.

* The Nigerian government said it is owed a total of $12.7 billion by more than a dozen companies for allegedly not declaring exports of crude oil to the United States between 2011 and 2014. The amount it is seeking from Shell was not immediately clear.

* Shell said SPDC was served with the lawsuit in March, and that it "refutes every allegation and insinuation of impropriety."

* "SPDC has always conducted its transactions relating to crude liftings from Nigeria in accordance with all applicable laws and in line with its rights and obligations under relevant contracts," the spokesman said in a statement.

* U.S. oil company Chevron (Euronext: CHTEX.NX - news) , France's Total (LSE: 524773.L - news) and Italy's ENI (LSE: 0N9S.L - news) have also previously been named as defendants. (Reporting By Oludare Mayowa in Lagos and Libby George in London)
