Aug 21 (Reuters) -

* A small fire broke out Monday evening at Royal Dutch Shell (LSE: RDSB.L - news) 's 404,000 barrel per day (bpd) Pernis oil refinery in the Netherlands, but was quickly extinguished by firefighters, a local monitoring site reported

* The fire at the refinery, Europe's largest, was caused by a lubricating oil leak on a hot turbine, a source told Reuters

* The refinery was in the process of restarting following a fire in late July in a power generating unit

* The impact of the fire on the restart process was not immediately clear, and Shell did not immediately respond to a request for comment For more on refinery outages: Further company coverage: (Reporting by Libby George; editing by Ahmad Ghaddar)
