** Shares of Belgian chemicals group Solvay (Brussels: SOLB.BR - news) are up 1.7% and among the most actively traded on the FTSEurofirst 300 on Monday morning.

** Stock top performer on the STOXX 600 European Chemicals Index which is 0.5 pct higher.

** Analysts at Exane, the top-ranked broker on the stock based on recommendations according to StarMine, lift rating to "outperform" from "neutral".

** Exane says Solvay taking series of steps include cost cuts, JVs and sales to drive growth and margins.
