BUZZ-Spectris: Shares jump on strong end to 2014

** Spectris Plc (Other OTC: SEPJF - news) shares poised for their best one-day gain in about 2 years after company ends 2014 on a bright note

** The maker of testing and control equipment, which warned on FY operating profit to be modestly below market expectations in October, reported an increase in sales across all its segments in Q4

** The company said sales to the automotive, electronics, energy and utilities, pharmaceutical and academic research markets showed good growth, offsetting ongoing softness in the metals, minerals and mining and pulp and paper sectors.
