BUZZ-Standard Chartered: Asian overhang darkens
** Standard Chartered (BSE: 580001.BO - news) could be forced into a capital raise of between $3-$9 bln, according to Morgan Stanley (Xetra: 885836 - news)
** The broker cuts its price target on the stock to 750p and maintained an "underweight" rating but raised the probability of its worst-case scenario for the stock playing out
** That calls for the stock to go as low as 410p or 45 pct below current levels
** Key reason is weakening macro data from Asia where China's slowdown, a sharp commodity selloff and weakening currencies have left economies bruised
** Morgan Stanley says capital raise not the base case but says bank may need $0-5 bln to top up provisions and $3-4 bln to reach a CET1 ratio of 13 pct, based on peer analysis
** Stock down 40 pct in the last year and down another 1 pct on Friday
