BUZZ-Tesco: falls on equal pay claim

** Shares (Berlin: DI6.BE - news) in Tesco (Frankfurt: 852647 - news) fall 1.3 pct at open

** Biggest UK food retailer faces country's largest ever equal pay claim and a possible bill of up to 4 bln pounds ($5.59 bln), says Law firm Leigh Day which has begun legal proceedings

** Distribution centre staff may earn in excess of 11 pounds ($15.4) an hour whilst the most common grade for store staff sees them receive around 8 pounds per hour - Leigh Day

** Thousands of female workers in Tesco stores could receive back pay totalling 20,000 pounds if the legal challenge demanding parity with men who work in the company's warehouses is successful, BBC reported earlier
