Schlumberger (Hanover: SCL.HA - news) , the world's No.1 oilfield services company, agreed to buy oilfield equipment provider Cameron in a deal valued at $14.8 bln.
Cameron shareholders will get $66.36 - $14.44 in cash and 0.716 of a Schlumberger share - for each share held, a premium of 56.3 percent to Cameron's Tuesday close.

The apparel retailer reported surprise second-quarter profit, helped by higher demand for Hollister and abercrombie Kids brands.

Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS-PB - news) added the tech giant's stock to its "conviction buy" list. Broker put a $800 price target on Google (Xetra: A0B7FY - news) 's Class A shares, implying a 31 percent rise from current levels.
** AMAZON.COM INC, $484.65, +3.92 pct
Evercore Partners (NYSE: EVR - news) raises the e-commerce company's stock to "buy" from "hold". Out of 43, 36 brokerages rate the stock "buy" or higher while 7 rate it "hold".
** OSHKOSH CORP, $40.71, +5.69 pct
The U.S. specialty truck maker won a $6.75 billion contract to build 17,000 light tactical vehicles to replace the aging Humvees used by the U.S. Army and Marine Corps.
** QUALCOMM INC, $55.31, +2.65 pct
The chipmaker said it agreed to sell its UK L-Band spectrum to Vodafone Group Plc (NasdaqGS: VOD - news) and Hutchison (HKSE: 0013-OL.HK - news) 3G UK Ltd in two separate deals. Qualcomm (Hanover: QCI.HA - news) did not disclose the terms of the deal.
** CENTURY ALUMINUM CO (NasdaqGS: CENX - news) , $4.16, -10.54 pct
The company, which is owned by Glencore PLC (Xetra: A1JAGV - news) , said on Tuesday it will idle its Hawesville, Kentucky, smelter, the first aluminum plant to shut in years as sinking prices and increased Chinese exports harm producers.
** FRONTLINE LTD (LSE: FRO.L - news) , $2.47, +6.47 pct
The Norwegian shipping company said it will start quarterly dividend as soon as it completes merger with Frontline 2012 Ltd, which was spun off 3 years ago.
** EXPRESS INC (NYSE: EXPR - news) , $19.16, +13.37 pct
The apparel retailer raised full-year adjusted profit forecast for second time in 2015 and reported second-quarter profit and sales above expectations, helped by better-than-expected rise in comparable sales.
