The Dow Jones industrial average was down 1.36 percent at 17,702.09, the S&P 500 was down 1.40 percent at 2,072.13 and the Nasdaq Composite was down 1.52 percent at 5,003.309.

The food distribution company said it terminated a $3.5 billion deal to buy US Foods Inc after a U.S. District Court granted the Federal Trade Commission's request for a preliminary injunction to block the deal.

** KONGZHONG CORP (NasdaqGS: KZ - news) , $7.33, +4.27 pct

The Chinese game developer said a CEO-led group proposed to take the company private.

The offer of $8.56 per ADS is at a premium of 21.8 percent to KongZhong's Friday close and values the company at about $401 million.

** PENN VIRGINIA CORP, $4.77, -7.92 pct

The oil and gas producer's shares fell after rising in the past two trading sessions. News website Proactive Investors reported on Thursday that BP Plc had offered to buy Penn Virginia for $8 per share.

"Most of today's move in (Penn Virginia) is a give back of what the stock had gained last week on takeover speculation," MLV & Co analyst Chad Mabry told Reuters on Monday.

The companies' shares fell after Greece imposed capital controls on Sunday to check the growing strains on its crippled financial system after bailout talks between the left wing government and foreign lenders broke down at the weekend.

Greece is an important destination for Carnival (LSE: CCL.L - news) and Royal Caribbean. Both companies have cruises dedicated to Greek Isles.

** FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILES NV, $14.53, -6.80 pct

Brokerage ESN/Banca Akros said the delay in the launch of the company's redesigned Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV was "surprising".

The company said on Friday its redesigned Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV will be delayed by at least a year to 2018-19, instead of previously expected late 2017.

** SAREPTA THERAPEUTICS INC (NasdaqGS: SRPT - news) , $28.45, -8.99 pct

The drugmaker said it has completed the rolling submission of its marketing application for its experimental muscle disorder drug, eteplirsen, with a request for "priority review."

** ARATANA THERAPEUTICS INC (NasdaqGM: PETX - news) , $15.505, +15.36 pct

The animal health drug maker said on Friday that its experimental appetite-stimulating drug was found effective in dogs in a pivotal study.

** MICRON TECHNOLOGY INC (NasdaqGS: MU - news) , $19.01, -3.31 pct

Mizuho Securities USA cut its rating on the chip maker's stock to "neutral" from "buy" and cut its price target to $30 from $37. Mizuho analysts said higher-than-expected transition costs for Micron's 20nm and advanced DRAM chips could compound a PC headwind over the next 2-3 quarters.

** IAMGOLD CORP (Toronto: IMG.TO - news) , $2.08, -5.02 pct

The Canadian miner cut its production forecast for the year, saying a "localized seismic event" in Quebec last month would reduce output from its Westwood (NYSE: WHG - news) mine by nearly half.

** AMPHENOL CORP, $57.97, +4.11 pct

The maker of electronic and fiber optic connectors said it made a binding offer to acquire Singapore-based electronic connectors maker FCI Asia Pte Ltd for $1.28 billion to strengthen its telecom products business.

** PETROLEO BRASILEIRO SA, $9.01, -4.25 pct

Brazil's state-run oil company Petrobras slashed its long-term spending plan to the lowest level in eight years on Monday as new management moved to reduce the industry's largest debt burden and pull the company out of a giant corruption scandal.
