BUZZ-UK property stocks: soar as Conservatives head for election victory

** Housebuilders on a tear as British election results point to Prime Minister David Cameron's Conservatives poised for a return to power without need of a formal coalition

** Berkeley Group the clear outperformer, up 9.1 pct, on course for biggest one-day rise since Dec (Shanghai: 600875.SS - news) 2013 & 2nd-top FTSE 250 riser, with Labour's "mansion tax" having been a particular cause for concern for London housebuilders

** Estate agents Savills & Countrywide third & fourth-top UK midcap risers, both up >8 pct

** Gains seen across the sector, with the Thomson Reuters UK Homebuilding index up 6.3 pct at a record high & on course for its biggest one-day rise in c.2 yrs

** Index had fallen some 5 pct from a mid-April peak until Thursday's close; Labour's "use it or lose it" policy for developers who own land that could be used for homes had also unnerved investors (RM (LSE: RM.L - news) : tricia.wright1.thomsonreuters.com@reuters.net)
