BUZZ-UK's SSE says could continue to run Peterhead gas plant beyond April

LONDON, Nov 8 (Reuters) - ** Britain's SSE (LSE: SSE.L - news) said on Wednesday it could continue to run its Peterhead gas-fired power plant in Scotland beyond April 2018, having previously placed the plant under review. ** Continued operation is subject to expected changes in transmission costs for the plant, the firm said. ** During an investor call on Wednesday, SSE said profitability for gas plants has improved in Britain. ** The plant failed to win a government capacity auction contract for 2017-2018 earlier this year, putting its future in doubt.
