** Analysts cite a positive read across from newly merged fireproof materials maker and Vesuvius' closest peer RHI (Shenzhen: 002483.SZ - news) Magnesita (+2 pct), which reports a pro-forma 23.7 pct rise in 9-month core profit, helped by a recovery in global steel production

** "There is healthy read-across from this update to Vesuvius (top-line), we feel. We suspect Vesuvius has raw material inflation to sort out in the near-term, but top line trends should be positive," Jefferies says
