BUZZ-VIEW FROM THE BUYSIDE-Royal Mail: parcel power

** Parcels are growing "really quite strongly", says Lowland Investment Company Plc's Laura Foll, who has been adding to holdings in Royal Mail (LSE: RMG.L - news) accordingly

** "Letters will continue to decline about mid-single digit -- but actually the parcels business is growing enough that this is a business in growth rather than decline," says Foll, the investment trust company's co-manager

** Half of Royal Mail's business is in parcels, she says

** "The management team ... have invested a lot in automation on the parcel side, which has allowed them to be competitive"

** Share (LSE: SHRE.L - news) buying comes in spite of risk of a Labour government, says Foll -- given opposition Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn favours nationalising certain public services

** Royal Mail stock up >6 pct on Thursday, on track for its biggest one-day percentage gain since shortly after its IPO in Oct (Shenzhen: 000069.SZ - news) 2013, after co and the Communications Workers Union ended a nearly 10-month-long dispute over pensions (RM (LSE: RM.L - news) : tricia.wright1.thomsonreuters.com@reuters.net)
