This cabin can be rearranged, depending on how you want to use it

Cabin-ANNA is a collapsible platform home. Designed by Caspar Schols, Cabin Anna was inspired by a garden shed with moving walls he made for his mother. What’s unique about the cabin is that it has rearrangeable layers.

“I had no formal architecture training after my mother asked me to design a garden pavilion that could be used for dinner parties with friends, theatre performances by her grandchildren, painting and meditating,” Schols told Architizer. “After months the result was the first version of ‘Garden House’ with its possibility to rearrange its layers according to the occasion or weather condition.”

Cabin-ANNA looks like a normal wooden shed, but its outer walls split into two halves that expand the length of the house. Inside the outer shell, is another set of glass walls that provide a view of the environment as well as protection from it. The glass section also collapses so that the center of the cabin is totally exposed to the great outdoors.

Thus, it can be used as an enclosed cabin, it can open at the center or become one long space. Schols intends the cabin to be used for gatherings like work or parties.

“[It’s] a dynamic home in the shape of an open platform to live with rather than against the elements, by playing with the configuration of the layers of the house — just like the way you dress yourself to suit different weather conditions, occasions and moods,” Schols told Dezeen.

Cabin-ANNA also includes a kitchen, shower, toilet and storage space.
