Call the Midwife star Helen George has just announced she's pregnant with baby number two! Helen of course plays beloved TV midwife Trixie on the show, while partner Jack Ashton will be known to fans as Reverend Tom Hereward.

The co-stars had their first baby, a daughter called Wren Ivy, back in 2017 and now they're expecting again, due to become a family of four this December!

Helen shared a gorgeous sunny snap on instagram showing her bump in a long floral dress, with the simple caption: "Baking number 2. Due in December 👶🏼"

The show re-shared her photo with an excited and gushing announcement on the official page.

Baby news never fails to brighten our day and we can't wait for adorable Wren to have a little brother or sister!

Series Writer and Executive Producer Heidi Thomas said: "This is such lovely news! Helen, Jack and little Wren are much loved members of the Call The Midwife family, and we are all delighted by the prospect of a new addition."

The caption also reassured fans series 11, set to air in 2022, was still "filming apace", before finishing: "From everybody here on Call the Midwife – congratulations Helen and Jack! xxx"
