Call the Midwife's Helen George has shared an adorable photo of her young daughter kissing her baby bump on the beach in Cornwall.

The actress's Instagram picture featured three-year-old Wren standing on her tippy toes to reach Helen's bump as they held hands on the shore of a very picturesque beach on the south coast.

"The bump, Wren and far too many Cornish pasties," she captioned her snap.

Helen was inundated with lovely comments from fans and followers, with one remarking: "This is adorable. She's going to be an amazing big sister!"

Another added: "Well this is utterly beautiful!!"

The star, who plays beloved nurse Trixie in BBC One's period drama, is expecting her second child partner Jack Ashton. The co-stars had their first child back in 2017 and are due to become a family of four this December.

Call the Midwife creator Heidi Thomas had responded to their happy announcement: "This is such lovely news! Helen, Jack and little Wren are much loved members of the Call The Midwife family, and we are all delighted by the prospect of a new addition."

Meanwhile, there's good news for Call the Midwife fans this year as there will be an annual Christmas special, and series 11 is on course to arrive in January 2022.

Heidi recently shared a photo of herself with her feet up in the living room of Nonnatus House after a fifteen month absence while drawings up plans for the filming of series 11.

"Guess where I am! Back at Nonnatus House for the first time since October 2019, and in a room with colleagues for the first time in fifteen months, that's where!" the writer commented.

Helen will be back to reprise her role as Trixie, Jenny Agutter as Sister Julienne, Leonie Elliott as Lucille, and Stephen McGann will return as Dr Turner. Plot details for the Xmas special are being kept udnerwraps for now, but season 10 revealed that Lucille (Leonie) and Cyril (Zephryn Taitte) are planning a Christmas wedding, so that's something viewers can look forward to.

Call the Midwife Christmas special will return to BBC One in December.
