You can buy these 10 flats with stunning countryside views for just £1
A block of flats with gorgeous views of South Wales could be yours for 10p per apartment.
The 10-flat block of one-bedroom homes, called Yr Hafan – “The Haven” – in the village of Pantygog near Bridgend, is going to auction with a starting price of £1.
The auctioneer believes it could go for as little as a quid.
Auctioneer Marc Morrish said: “The price of the block of flats is £1. I will invite offers of a pound to begin the auction and if no-one else bids, the flats will be sold for this amount.
“So yes, if there are no other bids, you will be able to buy it for £1.”
The block of vacant units is being sold by a housing association that wants to make sure it is bought, hence the £1 list price and no reserve, Morrish explained.
“I can’t comment on what I think the property will eventually sell for, but the starting price is a pound as the lot has to have a monetary value put on it,” he said.
Morrish added that there is “some cosmetic work” to do inside the building, which been vandalised in the past but is now secure.
Though some units have newer kitchens and bathrooms than others, all have recent central heating systems, double glazing and electrics that are up to standard.
Landlords may be particularly interested in the lot, with Morrish estimating that each flat could get £250 a month in rent.
The block is located on the main road through the village, with easy access to shops, a park and the local school, as well as the M4 motorway.
The flats are believed to be the cheapest on the market in the UK.
One-bedroom flats in cities such as Manchester and Bristol cost over £300,000 on average, and those in London often go for more than £500,000.
